First contest of the year and we decided to drive 6 hours for the $100,000 prize money. We win so much that this seemed like a good idea. :-) Parking was cramped and lacked any organization. But we were able to get parked and found ourselves by a few friends and a couple spots down from Pitmasters stars Myron of Jacks Old South and Harry Soo of Slap yo Daddy.

Arriving early Friday we had some time to kill so we ventured out to Gotham’s Mercantile for lunch. Gotham’s was featured on Man vs. Food for their “Quad”, a four patty burger at ¾ lbs per patty. I'd like to say I ate it myself but Frank and I did end up splitting the burger.

Friday night we found ourselves in Clark Kent’s tent watching Harry Soo demonstrate that his cooking skills went far beyond BBQ.

Not much to say about our cooking except that we started the year very average. Ribs being our best finish at 40th place out of 250 entries.

Saturday evening we splurged and got a hotel room at the "Presidential Holiday Inn" in Little Rock. Jim ordered himself the "President Bush" burger adding a few jokes about being in Clinton country.
