After threats of storms passed we had a great weekend. T and Rob brought down some much needed food for dinner friday night, meatball sandwiches! We kept the blades away from Rob so no injuries this weekend either. Also Judge David stopped by to share a few stories with his smoked cheese. BBQ went well with ribs being our only score not in the 160's and I will blame our butcher for poor trimming of the ribs for this one. It was something that we couldn't have seen in the packaging. However even with the low rib score we pulled a 25th (out of 80 teams) over all and received a 5th place call in brisket. The team is encouraged as we have top 10 calls in brisket and pork, our two weakest meats. If we can whip our chicken and ribs back into shape we should be in position to place in the over all category Next up the labor intensive Lenexa! |
