Finally after 3 contests were recieved a call for 2nd place in pork.
(A 172.0000 is also our highest score in pork)

Because of a conflict with the St Joe contest date, we needed to find another contest in April and Smolin' in the Creek in Sugar Creek Mo (East Kansas City) fit the bill. It was a nice contest that we would recomend to anyone.

Pat from Dirty Pig joined us for the weekend and he carried more than his weight in pitching in with the work detail. And if you know Pat thats a lot of weight ... I mean work. Pat is also taking credit for trimming our award winning pork. Thx for all the help Pat.

Chicken was over cooked as the FEC temps were all over the place again. We either need to watch the chicken closer or get a new smoker.
Ribs were OK and scored a 165.1428, I dont think we'll change much except for pumping a little more flavor in them with a different sauce.
Pork ... scoring a 172 in pork was a great accomplishment for us. The real test will be if we can back that score up at the next contest.
Brisket ... We cooked our first Wagyu briskets with both weighing in at 19lbs. The finished product had a great tast but was undercooked and recieved our worst score of the day.
Note to self .. must work on brisket!

We also made our first attempt at a dessert entry. Anna, Dallas's wife, entered her cinnimun rolls and dang were they good! Our low scores is the best example of how food comps really are more than just cooking good food.
