"I smell a winner!"
This was our best finish in a large contest, 5th over all out of 66 teams.
This was also our second multiple call contest.
We received a 5th place call in ribs and 6th place in brisket. We were
happy with our call in ribs. We had 5 contests in a row with low ribs scores
and we were getting a little depressed. Actually we did not change much, a
minor sauce change, less foil time and maybe a little more doneness. The rib
call has given us calls in all four categories this year.
The Kinsey's joined us with their camper for the weekend. And several friends from work stopped for Friday’s party. Early on washers was the game of choice then some 10 player Left, Right, Center games. And after everyone had plenty to drink. Pat got out his Wii video game for golf and bowling. We chuckled at thoughts of the old days sleeping on the ground and hoping we kept the smokers lit. Now we are in an air-conditioned camper playing video games and watching the smoker temps on a wireless computer.
